Artist statement- This is the jewelry I wore to homecoming. I took these photos the day after, and this was the first thing that I thought to make a set up with. These objects are tied to a happy memory, which is why I photographed them.
Another World
Drained (fresco)
Sandpaper (film grain)
Night (neon glow)
Artist statement- I love reading, always have, always will. These are three of my favorite books at the moment. I set them up in ways that you might find them spread at a bookstore, or as if they were on a bookshelf.
Yellow-Green
Bordered (palette knife)
Diagonal (paint daubs)
Spotlight (plastic wrap)
Artist statements- I use coloring for stress relief. These four pencils came from my normal set of colored pencils, they're just four variations of different colors. I know coloring is viewed as something childish, but I really do find it beneficial to me.
Spicy
Blurred (rough pastels)
Bruised (poster edges)
Highlighted (smudge stick)
Artist statement- These are four of the fruits that were given to my family by a friend. I know my family isn't going to use them for much else, so I photographed them. Photographing them for a class makes the fruit have a purpose for being there.
Unwrapped
Aerial view (underpainting)
Frazzled (sponge)
Licorice (watercoloring)
Artist statement- I love caramels, and they are one of my favorite candies. My mom melted a lot down to use for caramel apples (which turned out to fail). So, with the leftover caramels I photographed them, then of course, ate them.
