Artist statement- I chose to take this picture of a church. Specifically, this is the St. Thomas Church. This is the church of where my father attended as a kid. When I took this photo, the church was just coming out of their service. I found this difficult because I couldn't have any people in the picture. That's why all of the photos are taken at an upward angle.

Artist statement- This is a old barn at Wing's Farm. Wing's Farm is where my grandparents take me every year to buy a pumpkin. I personally think they look forward to it more than I do. I took these photos while on a hayride. As the hayride went along, I was able to get different photos of the barn.
Broken and Old

Blue on blue
Artist statement- While looking downtown for photo opportunities, I found this nice blue wall. What you can't see is that the market is right beyond this wall. I just found it interesting to find something so plain in Ann Arbor. Lots of walls are normally brightly colored, or have different designs on them. Yet, this wall was the right amount of simple.

Forgotten
Five black holes
Artist statement- I don't know what this building is. It looks very old, which is common among many Ann Arbor buildings. Yet, this wall hasn't been painted over in a while, so you can really see how old it is. I thought it was a good example of the history in Ann Arbor. I think many people overlook this history, just like this wall was overlooked when painting.

Grout
Artist statement- This is the last set of pictures I took. I was trying to find a non-commercial building, which was proving to be very difficult. I found this wall interesting because you can see that the lower part is brighter than the upper part. The plumbing is also visible, which isn't common for many modern buildings. The windows were also visually appealing to look at.
